Abstract:In order to solve the problems of difficult compaction and high porosity of steel slag asphalt concrete, this study uses a rotary compactor to analyze the influence of gradation, compaction temperature, and compaction energy on the compaction characteristics of steel slag asphalt concrete. Through orthogonal experiments, the effects of paving speed, ironing plate vibration frequency, and rammer vibration frequency on paving compactness are analyzed, and the paving construction parameters of steel slag asphalt mixture are optimized. Research has shown that using a median finer gradation can accelerate compaction rate and reduce compaction energy consumption. Appropriately increasing the compaction temperature can improve the compaction speed and density, and a suitable compaction temperature of 135 ℃ is recommended. During the paving process, the vibration frequency and paving speed of the ironing board have the greatest impact on the compactness of the paving. The optimal paving construction combination parameters for steel slag asphalt concrete are a vibration frequency of 12Hz, a vibration frequency of 35Hz, and a paving speed of 2m/min.
