Journal Publication Ethics and Academic Morality Code of Conduct
Science is built on trust and integrity, and the value of scientific research heavily relies on integrity. Research is also governed by a series of ethical, legal, and professional normative frameworks and should comply with relevant ethical guidelines. Any academic misconduct occurring in the process of publishing scientific papers violates the academic moral and ethical standards of the journal. In the process of scientific publishing and research, the Copyright Law of the People's Republic of China, the Patent Law, the Code of Scientific Ethics for Scientific and Technical Workers (Trial) promulgated by the China Association for Science and Technology, and other relevant national laws, regulations, social ethics, and academic morals must be strictly observed. The editorial office of Journal of China & Foreign Highway is committed to maintaining a high level of publication quality through rigorous peer review and ethical and moral standards. Our editorial office takes any violation of professional ethics and publication ethics, such as plagiarism, data fabrication, falsification of authorship, etc., very seriously, with a zero-tolerance policy towards such behaviors.
Responsibilities of Authors
1. Publication Standards: Authors should actively disclose the academic research process in detail, fully revealing key research information, promoting scientific research transparency, and providing integrity supporting materials for the publication of academic achievements.
2. Research Ethics: Authors should ensure that all research proactively considers ethical issues, complies with moral, legal, professional obligations and norms, and meets the requirements of regulatory bodies and relevant parties.
3. Data Sharing: Authors may be requested to provide original data during the peer review process, and they should comply with the journal's data sharing policy.
4. Originality: Authors should ensure the originality of the paper. If statements or methods from others are cited in the paper, please indicate the source. Copying or large-scale copying and pasting of others' articles is prohibited. Any form of plagiarism will be considered academic misconduct, and this journal reserves the right to refuse to publish articles with plagiarism.
5. Single Submission: Authors should not resubmit previously published research content to this journal, nor should they submit the same manuscript to multiple journals simultaneously. Otherwise, this behavior is considered a violation of publication ethics. If authors are found to have submitted the same manuscript to multiple journals, this journal reserves the right to reject the manuscript.
6. Authorship: The authorship of an article should be attributed to those who have made significant contributions to the research idea, experimental design, or workload. Other contributors should be listed as co-authors or acknowledged at the end of the article. The corresponding author should ensure that all co-authors agree to publish the final manuscript content.
Responsibilities of Editors
1. Editors' Responsibilities towards Authors:
1) Under the premise of complying with the journal's aims and scope and editorial policies, promptly and efficiently arrange peer review and make editorial decisions.
2) Evaluate the quality of manuscripts based on their content, without making decisions based on the author's race, gender, sexual orientation, or nationality.
3) Editors of this journal shall not disclose any information about unpublished manuscripts to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, authors, and editorial office members.
2. Editors' Responsibilities towards Reviewers:
1) Assign manuscripts for review based on reviewers' research interests and professional fields.
2) Require reviewers to be vigilant about potential conflicts of interest and to recuse themselves in a timely manner.
3) Allow reviewers sufficient time to complete their reviews.
2. Objectivity: Take responsibility for affirming the strengths of the manuscript and offering constructive suggestions to address weaknesses in the research.
3. Professionalism: Take responsibility for declining to review when the manuscript falls outside their area of expertise.
4. Impartiality: Review comments should be based on scientific facts and remain objective and fair.
5. Conflict of Interest: Proactively recuse or disclose any potential conflicts of interest.
6. Timeliness: Take responsibility for adhering to review guidelines and completing reviews in a timely manner.
